January Blog

This is my 17th year of writing a monthly newsletter/blog.

I always channel the content; my Spirit Guides tell me exactly what they want me to pass on to my readers each month.  Each year has some sort of cosmic, or – you might even call it Divine – theme to it:  every month has its own component, related to that bigger theme.

This past year’s theme has had to do with the concept of creating more prosperity.

This first year of the new decade, 2010-2019 has to do with the concept of hope.   The Webster’s online dictionary definition of hope:  “a feeling that what is wanted is likely to happen; desire accompanied by expectation.”

Many people these days are feeling an absence of purpose in life, a lack of belonging, virtually very little hope…  By the way, belonging happens to be a very important aspect of human nature; see below specific information related to belonging (Maslow’s Hierarchy).  Also most people today tend to have at least some aspect of being “ungrounded”.   This always contributes to depression, even despair and hopelessness (much more on this, in coming months...).

Something to know about hope is that it is difficult to understand it’s true deeper meaning if you’re totally mired in a lot of issues.  I.e., in order to be able to grasp the true aspect of hope, you need to be partially through from some of the more heavy issues, and able to see some light (even if it’s a long way away) the end of the proverbial tunnel.

If you read this blog every month during this year, by the end you will be feeling more grounded, more spiritually connected to your life’s purpose and in more of a manifestation mode -- at least!

The concept of hope is generally misunderstood.  When people use the word, it’s usually in a wimpy way, such as “I hope I passed my test even though I didn’t study” or “I hope I’m going to have enough money to last through the end of the month until I get paid again”.   Examples such as these do no good towards getting what the person saying it wants; it’s actually even counterproductive.  Most people use hope in a wimpy way, but in reality there’s a hidden message in hope and if you use it as a spiritual energy then there is attached to it some, at least, of the results you want.

There is a power integral to the concept of hope...  If you see it as being, like everything else, an energy with a high spiritual value – you will find that some of the results you want are actually contained within it.  Much more on this coming up in future months.

In order to work with the true meaning of hope, it’s important to realize that hope is an essential level of human growth.  As are many facets of life, such as belonging.

Abraham Maslow was an American psychologist who created a theory decades ago, still valid today re understanding human motivation, personal development and even management training.  In his 1954 book, “Motivation and Personality”; he introduced the concept he called the Hierarchy of Needs

In this five-stage model, Maslow came up with different, vital stages of human development, the very most basic ones needing to be handled before one is able to move to a higher state of being.

Here are the five stages (beginning at the bottom):

Self-actualization:    Personal fulfillment, desires met, self-expression,
                                  creativity, becoming visionary, spontaneity, mastery,
                                  strategy towards achieving goals

Esteem needs:         Personal growth, self-esteem, achievement, status,
                                  acknowledgement (such as trophies), confidence
volunteering, respect of/by others, reputation, fame,
benchmarks other people live by, acquisitions/wealth,
                                   popularity

Belongingness/       Workplace relationships, friendships, family, following
Love needs:            gurus, social networking, partnership, romance; affection, intimacy, commitment, clubs

Safety/Security needs:  Body, home, financial stability, morality (such as religions
                                        provide), laws, education, transportation

Basic Life needs:    Food, water, shelter, clothing, warmth, sex, sleep

When I was discussing with my Spirit Guides how to address the concept of hope, they surprised me by telling me that the deepest sense of hope behind what most people think about) is that it totally relates to, vibrates at and is contained within the fourth level of Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs:

From what they have told me, one has to achieve a certain level of sophistication spiritually and emotionally before one can actually grasp how to “be” with the concept of hope and begin to work with it in a useful, productive, transformative way…  Anyone working with “hope” that is weak, is probably in denial in some way and won’t be able to grasp what true hope can actually do for them.

This is such an important concept that I’ll be working with this throughout the year.

Happy, Hopeful, 2010 to You!

Affirmations for January

Each month I channel anywhere from one to several affirmations.  My Spirit Guides continually let me know that anyone working with the affirmations in my newsletter will see faster results than the affirmations usually provide.  I have several dozen Spirit Guides who assist anyone who works with these particular affirmations; they enhance the outcome of whatever the affirmation is about by at least 2 times, up to 6-7 times.
Saying affirmations on a daily basis is a very effective tool in creating what you want.  Constantly repeating positive thoughts eventually WILL transform your thinking patterns and therefore your belief system…One of the phrases I’m most known for, is, “What you believe—you create.”  Another way of saying this is that as you start to believe you deserve more, you’ll create more.

There are many schools of thought on how long it takes an affirmation to finally work.  I believe it is different for each person, and for each area of life we want to transform.  Having said that, what I have observed over the past few decades is that saying an affirmation 15-35 times per day will “bear fruit” (i.e., begin to show up in your life) in anywhere from 7 weeks to 4 months. When you speak your affirmations, you are giving instructions to your subconscious mind.  How quickly your subconscious mind accepts these thoughts as a new reality depends on many factors: your state of health, how new the topic is to your life, how much stress you are under, how much spiritual work you’ve done on yourself, etc.

Always state affirmations in the positive.  For example: if you’re wanting to increase money that comes to you, state something such as, “Money comes easily to me.  I always have a constant flow of money into my checking account.”   DON’T say something such as, “I will never worry about my checks bouncing again.”
Do be specific:  make sure that you state exactly what it is you want.  For example, if you are working on manifesting a partner in life, be sure to include aspects such as he/she being “geographically desirable” (in other words not living across the continent, or in another country), prosperous, healthy, supportive, and–single. (That last aspect can be critically important!)

  • I love understanding how to work with the deep meaning of Hope.
  • Hopeis my mantra for 2010.  I believe that hope in it’s truest meaning is my Divine right, my Divine support.
  • My deep hope is that 2010 is full of success, prosperity and happiness.

Mercury Retrograde Dates for 2010

Every year, I note the dates when the planet Mercury will be in its retrograde phase.  When Mercury is retrograde it has a very strong influence on everything having to do with communication and transportation:  Conversations, contracts, delays in travel, important emails getting lost – you name it, it happens!  During each time that Mercury is in retrograde pay particularly close attention to EVERYTHING you say, do or think about all of your contacts, trips, plans and agreements…  This is true for approximately two weeks before Mercury goes retrograde and two weeks after it goes direct.
